The Three Seas Initiative Summit in Warsaw was organized on November 30, 2023, by the Warsaw Institute and the Central and Eastern European Council. The CEE cooperation summit: Europe’s Rising Power focused on the policy cooperation within the region.
Panel highlights
Daniel Hinšt, Vice President of the Centre for Public Policy and Economic Analysis (CEA) participated in the panel Security of the region: threats, challenges, and solutions (starting with 1:20).
In general, Hinšt emphasized CEA’s policy positions focused on the need to:
- increase military spending beyond NATO target of 2% of GDP, in order to strengthen Eastern and overall European security contribution to the American-led NATO alliance;
- develop close intelligence cooperation, especially in detecting disinformation;
- face multiple security threats at the same time (Russia, China, Iran, Hamas, Hezbollah, etc.)
- invest in mutual policy learning and civic education about common values of freedom within the EU and NATO;
- control immigration and encourage integration of immigrants.
This is in line with CEA’s main objective focused on further EU and NATO enlargement, strengthened defense and transatlantic partnership, and controlled immigration.

The conference was a chance to meet partners and like-minded colleagues from Poland, the United States, Austria, and Hungary.
